
Our member-only aquathlons are a highlight and a benefit of Triclub Doha membership - free, timed race events taking placed place roughly once a month. They are a great way to check your progress over the season and prepare for triathlons, particularly open-water events. The swim and run are lap-based, for a more social vibe, and hopefully you can see your lap times improve over the season. These are low key races; no medals, no podiums, but participation and position earn points towards the Club Championship. Remember to bring your timing chip as we can't guarantee that you'll feature in the results without it.

Location
We are lucky to have the support of Fit Island Studio for this event. As this is a new collaboration and they have been immensly supportive, we encourage you to take a look around and talk to their staff about what they offer. They have offered their venue at no cost, so please support us to support them by joining us for a drink and a bite to eat at sundown.
Route
The format of the event is swim then run. See the route here but be advised that, as this is a new venue, the course may be subject to last minute changes. You are strongly advised to attend the race breifing before the start to be aware of changes to the route and/or hazards to be aware of.
SWIM
500m anti-clockwise lap around five bouys. Pass all buoys on the outside
Complete as many laps as required for your race. There is no 'Aussie exit' between laps
Wetsuit is optional and the water and air temperature are skins-friendly
For safety and water confidence, the Kids/Beginner swim course is along the shoreline from one end of the beach to the other - approximately 175m
RUN
Out-and-back, traffic free course.
Turn points: 1) The public installation just inside 5/6 park for 4.7km 2) The palace entrance for 2.5km and 3) The end of the run path for 1.25km. Turn points will marked with a cone and marshalled.
From Doha Sands the route heads towards 5/6 park. It is entirely on foot paths and running tracks - do not make any road crossings except at the two palace entrances
At 5/6 park, the route takes a right fork off the running path to enter the park
HAZARDS
The palace entrances are little used but cross with caution
Avoid running on cycle paths
Show respect to other path users and slow down if necessary
Other Information
Dress appropriately; no bare chests. Remember that this venue is more public than others we use.
Timing starts when your chip crosses start line - a late start isn't a problem
No littering on course - respect our hosts
Ramadan Kareem!
You are reminded that public drinking is forbidden by law during Ramadan. You may drink descreetly when out of public view - and Fit Island provide a screened area for this purpose - but there should be no drinking on the beach or run course.

- TriSuit or swim suit. T-Shirt for run if not wearing a TriSuit
- Wetsuit and rash protection
- Goggles
- Running shoes and socks (if worn)
- Towel - dry off feet after the swim
- Water bottle to rinse sand off feet
- Hat and sunglasses for run
- Sunscreen
