SIGN UP ON THE REGISTRATION SITE

Fortnightly throughout the season our Tuesday night training is a timed duathlon, time trial or team time trial. Call this what you like - brick training, transition practice, tempo training. Some would even call them a race and club championship points are awarded. These are club events, but member's are welcome to bring a friend. Timing is only available for those who bring a timing chip. Details of this training are shared in the weekly newsletter and on our members Whatsapp group.

Safety

These are training events on a track open to other cyclists. Show courtesy and save your race-head for when it really matters!

  • Be careful to check behind and ahead when making the U-turn to come back, in particular for those turning at the 6km mark.
  • Be prepared to slow down and pass with caution if cyclists are standing around chatting at kilometer zero.
  • Front and rear lights are strongly advised and helmets mandatory
  • Parents: juniors are welcome to participate but please ensure they understand how to participate safely

Tuesday Bike Training

Tuesday 18:30 - Kilometer Zero Olympic Cycling Track

On alternate Tuesdays throughout the season, we meet for group rides. Depending on turn out, we split into three groups: 1) No drop easy pace 2) Approx 30kph average - 40km 3) Approx 32-34kph - 66km
As it is an out and back route, you can test yourself in a faster group and turn when you like. NOTE: On weeks where Lusail Circuit is open for cycling, we get a low turn out for Tuesday group rides it may switch to the circuit on a Wednesday evening.

Saturday Open-Water Swim/Run

Saturday various times 06:00 - 07:00 - Meet by the beach at Sharq Village & Spa

We are lucky enough to be welcomed by Sharq Village & spa to use their beach on Saturday mornings and this is an ideal opportunity to get your open water practice in, or simply enjoy a swim unconstrained by lane ropes. It can be hard getting up early on Saturday but it is always worth it! Most weeks this is an informal sea swim followed by a group run at various paces but Saturdays are also when we hold occasional aquathlons or swim races. Occasionally the meeting point switches to the end of the beach by the Ibis Club if Sharq are using the regular meeting point for a function.
Juniors are welcome to join the session but parents are responsible for their safety - some will swim while other play on the sand with their TriClub friends.

This session is normally uncoached but look out for communications about open water practice drills and coaching.
