All Set for Race Day?
Welcome to this TriClub Doha and Education City event. And especialy if this is your first multi-sport race — we hope it is the start of something wonderful.
There is a lot to work out, so we recommend arriving at least 60 minutes before your start, so you have time to check in, set up, and get familiar with the layout. Our volunteers and officials are on hand to give you advice and you’ll find many of your questions answered in the ‘Guides’ section of our website
On Arrival
Getting to the Event
Important: Enter Education City by Gate 2 from Luqta Street Location
At the first roundabout continue straight.
At the second roundabout, turn right and parking is located on your right Location
From the parking, walk 300m to Qatar Academy Primary School car park Location
For safety, walk on the footpath to the right of the tram tracks.
Check-in Procedures
Collect your timing chip from registration. Provide 500 QAR or QID as deposit
LINE 1 | Non-member check-in and chip collection
LINE 2 | Queries; category changes; new member chips, rental chips (50 QAR)
LINE 3 | Body marking - your race number is marked on your arm or leg
Setting Up Transition
Choose your own spot in the transition zone. Positions are not marked. We recommend laying out a brightly coloured towel to help you locate your gear after the swim. Set out shoes, with everything you need for the run on top. Be considerate to your transition neighbours.
Chests and thighs must be covered during the run in all races except Mini-Kids. If swimming in a swimsuit, have a t-shirt and shorts ready in transition.
Remove extra bags and equipment that won't be used during the race.
Check Your Timing Chip
Use the chip-checker at registration to ensure your timing chip is functional. Alternatively, pass over the finish line and listen for the BEEP!
We strongly advise checking chips before starting. We cannot guarantee that those with chip mis-reads; or those who are given a last-minute entry; or who forget their chip; or use a chip other than that assigned, will feature in the results before the awards ceremony.
Race Routes
Know Your Lap Count
| SWIM | RUN | |
|---|---|---|
| SPRINT | 10 lengths (500m) | 4 laps (5km) |
| SUPER-SPRINT | 4 lengths (500m) | 2 laps (2.5km) |
| KIDS 7-9, 10-11 | 2 lengths (100m) | 1 lap (1.2km) |
| MINI-KIDS | 20-50m | 200m |
Swim Course

Swim one length; touch the wall; switch to the next lane; repeat until the steps at the end of the last lane. There is no requirement to touch the wall before exit.
Your race starts when your chip crosses the timing mat: Stay clear of the mats to avoid timing errors
THE ROLLING START
Competitors are sent to the start zone in order of swim speed, then started at 10 second intervals.
Your race starts when your chip crosses the start-line: Stay clear of the mats to avoid timing errors
There is no advantage to starting first. In fact, it could be a serious disadvantage if strong swimmers swim over you. Know your 100m time and start with the appropriate group
STAY OUTSIDE START ZONE
Enter the pool through the entrance shown and stay outside the start zone until called
Only athletes are allowed poolside: parents and spectators are requested to watch from the bleacher section
Transition Flow

Run Course

The run is on a multi-lap, out-and-back course with marshalled turn points.
The run course exits from transition and then follows the path along-side the tram tracks. Do not cross the tram tracks. Turn right at the top of the hill. U-turn shortly after at the marshalled turn-point. Follow the same route back until reaching the car park once more. Here you'll make a lap before reaching the finish or commencing the next lap.
Mini-Kids Fun Race
Your family’s sport is completed by a Mini-Kids Aquathlon for the under sevens. This is a fun, non-competitive event...we are looking for lots of smiles and hopefully no tears... hoping to inspire a new generation who are, of course, already inspired by their mum, dad and older sibling triathletes. Every Mini-Kid will cross the finish line and collect an Education City Triathlon finisher medal.
Parents are requested to assist in the facilitation of this event.
Mini-kids swim up to 50 meters. If your child cannot swim a full length, they can enter the pool further down to ensure they are safe and confident.
Mini-kids are allowed to compete in swimwear but may wear a t-shirt while running, if preferred.
The run goes directly to the finish line… the only obstacle they will encounter is passing through the cheer-tunnel of over-enthusiastic adults!
Congratulations to our youngest multi-sporters!
Results & Awards
Every finisher is awarded a commemerative medal as recognition of achievement. You might also reward your effort with a post-race snack of a banana and a muffin. Collect it near the finish line.
Podium medals are awarded to the top three male and female winners of each individual category and the top three teams in each relay.
‘Live’ unverified results are available throughout the race. Please highlight any discrepances before the awards ceremony if possible.
